About Nick:

Nick Wolda is the President of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Director of Community Relations for The Woodlands Township, a community of approximately 95,000 residents and 2,000 businesses.

 

In these positions, Mr. Wolda focuses on the promotion and marketing of over five million square feet of hospitality, shopping, dining and entertainment and oversees communication of services to The Woodlands residential and business community.

 

The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting The Woodlands as a premier regional destination for shopping, dining, entertainment and a place to conduct business.  The Bureau facilitates inquiries from leisure travelers, group businesses, meeting planners and corporations looking a special place to host meetings, conventions, conferences or just to visit.

 

The Woodlands Township is a 28,000-acre residential and commercial development created in 1974 and located about 30 miles north of Houston, featuring 180 miles of hike and bike paths, 110 parks, a full service fire department and millions of square feet of office space with major world-wide corporations.

 

Mr. Wolda develops and implements The Woodlands Township community relations strategies and CVB marketing programs, including public relations and advertising and oversees special events including the Red, Hot & Blue Festival, The Ice Rink, Public Safety Heroes Awards, and numerous other events. His marketing programs have won numerous awards from the International Festivals & Events Association, International Economic Development Council and several state-wide organizations.

 

A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Mr. Wolda began his career as a writer for The Lufkin Daily News and the Houston Chronicle. In his 24 years of marketing, Mr. Wolda has provided sales, marketing, public relations and advertising guidance to a variety of corporations, state associations and governmental entities.

 

He currently serves as a Director on the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Education for Tomorrow Alliance and ORWALL Little League organization in The Woodlands.  Mr. Wolda is also the voice of CISD Football Radio Network. He resides in the Village of Alden Bridge in The Woodlands.
