WELLS FARGO RETURNS AS PRESENTING SPONSOR
FOR MEMORIAL DAY FIREWORKS IN THE WOODLANDS
 
THE WOODLANDS, TX (May 17, 2012) – Have a blast this Memorial Day as Wells Fargo presents an extravagant firework display during “Memorial Day in The Woodlands,” a free live music event complete with interactive booths, face painters, balloonists and more, May 26 – 27, from 6 pm – 9 pm at Waterway Square.  Fireworks will light up the sky at 8:55 pm both evenings.
 
This is the second year Wells Fargo will serve as a presenting sponsor during the Memorial Day festivities. Wells Fargo operates ten branches throughout The Woodlands area.
 
“Sponsoring the Memorial Day fireworks provides a great opportunity for Wells Fargo to support The Woodlands community and honor our American soldiers,” said Glenn Godkin, Wells Fargo Greater Houston Regional president. “Last year’s event was spectacular and we look forward to another great success for 2012.”
 
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy sounds from local country favorite, The Shelia Marshall Band, as the group takes to the stage on Saturday, May 26 from 6 pm – 7:20 pm followed by the top cover band, Rapture, from 7:40 pm – 8:55 pm.
 
The fun continues on Sunday with live music from Houston’s hottest party band, 11th Hour, from 6 pm – 7:20 pm. Another Houston favorite, Park Avenue, will perform hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today from 7:40 pm -8:55 pm.
 
Following a full evening of festivities at Waterway Square, the crowd will be treated to a grand display of fireworks that will light up the night’s sky both Saturday and Sunday night beginning at 8:55 pm, best viewing at Waterway Square.
 
Memorial Day in The Woodlands is free and open to the public thanks to Wells Fargo, The Woodlands Development Company, The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, Kyle Sherburne – State Farm Insurance, University of Phoenix, Munday Chevrolet, Wrights Printing, and Kroger.
 
Limited, free curbside parking is available along Lake Robbins Drive, Waterway Avenue, Waterway Square Place, and Timberloch Place. Additional parking is available at the 24 Waterway Parking Garage (corner of Fountain Plaza & Lake Robbins Drive), the Waterway Square Parking Garage (between Fountain Plaza and Woodloch Court) and the parking lot at the corner of Waterway Avenue and Timberloch Place, prices vary.
