The Woodlands Welcomes House Hunters’ Family, the Magees,
to the Village of Creekside Park
THE WOODLANDS, TX – (Wednesday, February 2012) – New residents of The Woodlands, Michelle and Robert Magee, along with their two children were recently featured on HGTV’s hit television show, House Hunters as they searched for their dream home in The Woodlands. Marketing team members from The Woodlands Development Company (TWDC) recently welcomed the Magees with gifts from the master-planned community.
For the television episode, a crew filmed the Magees on their home search throughout The Woodlands. “House Hunters is an excellent show about following families on their house-hunting journeys,” said Susan Vreeland-Wendt, director of marketing for TWDC. “The television exposure was a wonderful opportunity to promote the great amenities that we have in The Woodlands including Waterway Square in Town Center, a concert at Market Street and rides on a Waterway Cruiser and a Waterway trolley.”
Robert was recently transferred with his employment from San Francisco to Houston. Due to the transfer, the Magees began searching the surrounding areas of Houston for a new home and were familiar with The Woodlands because Robert had done some previous work here with his job. Robert now finds it easy to commute to work in downtown Houston by using The Woodlands Express.
The Magees rented in The Woodlands before selecting a new home. “The Woodlands has a lot to offer, not only for adults but also for children. It is very community-oriented, and there is something to do on any given weekend. In fact, we recently attended the Arbor Day Celebration at nearby Rob Fleming Park,” said Michelle. “The Woodlands is also a family-friendly community. I wanted my children to be able to make friends. I have already made a lot of friends. I was also so happy to find a job in The Woodlands.”
Michelle is a fan of House Hunters and applied online at its website, hoping her family would be selected for their house-hunting search. They were very excited to have been chosen for the national television show. “At first, we were anxious about whether to choose a new home or a resale,” Michelle said. “The Woodlands offers new homes from a wide variety of builders. All of the new homes look nice!” The Magees purchased a Plantation home in The Woodlands’ Village of Creekside Park.
