THE WOODLANDS ART LEAGUE GALLERY SEES BIG JUMP IN MEMBERSHIP, ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR NEW SPACE AT MARKET STREET – THE WOODLANDS
THE WOODLANDS, TX (July 27, 2011) – Having experienced a four-fold increase in its membership since opening a location in Market Street, The Woodlands Art Gallery is making plans for a new home at the shopping and entertainment destination where it will occupy a new space on Market Street’s west end in late August.
With more than 400 members, The Woodlands Art League has become known for its talented artists and inspiring workshops. Works on display at the gallery come from the members themselves and feature a variety of mediums, from still life and sculptures to wildlife scenes and oil paintings.
The gallery also serves as a resource center where individuals can attend free art workshops, meet regional artists and participate in a series of professional art classes, which includes instruction on water colors and a class on figure painting. Organizers also have added a series of children’s art classes to its offerings.
"Having our own gallery not only allows our members to display their works, but also provides a space where we can continue the process of building relationships with those who are interested or new to the art world," says The Woodlands Art League President Kim Abbati.
The Woodlands Art Gallery at Market Street is open Monday through Saturdays, 10 am – 9 pm and Sundays, noon – 6 pm. Membership fees for The Woodlands Art League is $40 for adults and $10 for students.
