MARKET STREET IN THE WOODLANDS PRESENTS A FARMER’S MARKET EVERY SATURDAY IN MAY - SEPTEMBER

 

THE WOODLANDS, TX (April 12, 2006) …Every Saturday morning May through September, Market Street in The Woodlands will present A Farmer’s Market featuring homegrown produce and products from Houston-area growers.

The market will be open every Saturday, beginning May 6 from 8–11 am in the North/South Market Streets area.

Bring the whole family and enjoy shopping for local vegetables, fruits and much more. Here are examples of the items that will be available from the growers and producers that are from the regional area:

  • Locally grown fresh fruits & vegetables harvested daily
  • Breads & pastries
  • Farm fresh eggs
  • Fresh and dried herbs
  • Jams, jellies, chutney’s and other condiments
  • Locally made soaps and lotions
  • Locally grown fresh cut flowers
  • Locally processed specialty cheeses
  • Local grass fed beef and lamb
  • Smoked sausage and jerky
  • Handmade jewelry
  • Top quality plants, flower & vegetable starts, shrubs, trees, hanging baskets, colorful containers

“We are thrilled to bring a Farmer’s Market to Market Street,” said Jenny Taylor, Activities Coordinator. “We had many requests from residents and are hopeful that the community will support the local farmers and the Farmer’s Market will be a success.”

Located across the street from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Market Street is bounded by Lake Woodlands Drive, Lake Robbins Drive, Grogan’s Mill Road and Six Pines Drive.
