YMCA Healthy Kids Day is the nation’s largest health day for kids and families and is free to the public. It’s a day filled with fun, engaging and creative activities that foster healthy living, and is a part of the YMCA’s larger efforts to help more kids and families become physically active. “This day is designed to celebrate healthy living, encourage kids and families to get excited about physical fun and activity, and most importantly, just play,” said Roxanne Davis, Community Liaison for the South Montgomery County YMCA. “Increasing physical activity is one way to get healthier, and doing it as a family is a great way to reconnect with one another. Healthy Kids Day provides hands on activities and games designed to educate kids and parents while entertaining them” she added.
The South County YMCA invites local non-profit youth organizations, health & wellness, safety, arts/humanities and environmental agencies to participate. If your group is interested in participating and hosting a booth, please call Roxanne Davis, Healthy Kids Day Coordinator, at 281-681-6723 or e-mail rdavis@ymcahouston.org. There is no charge to participate but agencies participating are asked to provide hands on activities for kids and families as well as a door prize. Space is limited.
