LOCAL BUSINESS, COMMUNITY LEADERS TO PERFORM
AT TOWN CENTER THEATRE’S THIRD ANNUAL SEASON KICK-OFF

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – March 4, 2008 – Town Center Theatre, Montgomery County’s first professional theatre, will be holding its third annual Season Kick-Off on Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, located at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive.

For this year’s event, Town Center Theatre will be performing a one-night-only benefit performance of the specially created musical theatre piece Into The Woodlands, which will showcase the talents of Town Center Theatre performers with cameo appearances by local business and community leaders. The cast includes: Nelda Blair and Nick Wolda of The Woodlands Township; attorney Gary Gelfman of Gelfman & Associates; Dr. David Gottlieb of Woodforest Bank and The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival; Art Rascon of ABC 13 Eyewitness News; singing and acting coach Patti Rascon; Chip Ray of CB&I; Dr. Ann Snyder of Interfaith of The Woodlands; Kenny Speight of the Kenny Speight Agency; and more!

“We thought it would be fun to get members of the community involved in this year’s fundraiser, so they can see what goes into creating a theatrical production and feel the satisfaction of debuting the finished product,” said Artistic Director Chris Tennison. “Plus, it will be a treat for the attendees to see their peers and colleagues on stage, all the while supporting professional theatre in the Montgomery County area.”

The program will kick off at 7 p.m. with a reception that will include heavy hors d'oeuvres stations, an open bar and silent auction. The formal program will begin at 8:00 p.m. with a live auction and presentation on Town Center Theatre’s newly implemented youth acting program, followed by the world premiere performance of Into The Woodlands. The evening will conclude with coffee and dessert.

The proceeds raised at the event will fund Town Center Theatre’s 2009 season. Last year’s Kick-Off raised nearly $23,000 for Town Center Theatre’s 2008 season. Long-term, the organization hopes to expand its offering of education and community outreach programs, as well as continue to produce professionally staged plays and musicals that are both entertaining and intellectually stimulating. Individual tickets for the Gala are $100 ($200 per couple), while sponsorships are available ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Dress is business chic and cocktail casual. To purchase tickets, call (832) 592-9697.
